ANCIENT AND MODERN DIASPORAS
“Palazzo Taurino - Medieval Jewish Lecce” museum marked the Holocaust Memorial Day with a series of events taking place during the week that includes 27 January, the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz concentration camp by Soviet troops. The week provided a focus for remembering the millions of people killed in the Holocaust and the history of the Jewish survivors who arrived in Southern Italy after WWII. On the 26th of January took place the debate “ANCIENT AND MODERT DIASPORAS” with Prof. Fabrizio Lelli, director of the Jewish museum in Lecce (Lingua e Letteratura ebraica, Università del Salento), Prof. Antonio Donno (Storia delle Relazioni Internazionali, Università del Salento) and Papas Nick Pace (Chiesa greca “San Nicola di Mira”, Lecce).
